Visitor analytics privacy

Updated 20 October 2026. TownHub uses its own visitor statistics to understand which public town pages are useful and which shared links bring visits.

What these statistics contain

Public page paths without query strings, visit time, device category, referring website hostname, and short campaign labels from shared links. We also count visits lasting ten visible seconds and successful good-news submissions, without including the story or contact details.

For approximate daily visitor counts, the server uses the request IP address and browser information to make a keyed hash that changes each day. Raw IP addresses and browser strings are not saved in the analytics table. The daily hash is a pseudonymous identifier, not a person's name.

Storage and access

No analytics cookies or persistent visitor IDs are used. A tab's session storage keeps campaign labels so subsequent pages can be attributed to the same shared link. Individual analytics events are private to TownHub administration. Events older than 90 days are removed when new events are recorded.

Administrative pages, partner portals and citizen-report routes are excluded. Analytics does not collect form contents, passwords, names, email addresses or report details. Information you deliberately submit through a form is handled separately as explained on that form.

Employment, CV and training records

When you submit your name, contact details, skills, CV or training interest through a town Jobs & Skills form, those personal details are stored privately to support local jobseekers and training coordination. Published statistics show counts by category rather than names. CV documents are stored in private file storage and are accessible only to authorised TownHub administrators.

TownHub does not automatically forward CVs to employers. A candidate must give separate permission before their CV is shared for a particular opportunity. Employers submitting skills requests have their contact details kept private; only TownHub-reviewed organisation names and demand information may appear on public pages.

To ask for access, correction or removal of your employment records, contact TownHub through its published contact channel. TownHub does not guarantee employment or placement on a training course.

Your choices

This tracker honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals. You can also add ?th_analytics=off to a TownHub page URL to exclude that tab session. Statistics are approximate and cannot tell us who opened a WhatsApp message.
