Koos Malgas, a sheepshearer and builder, became Helen Martins' principal collaborator in the Camel Yard. For about twelve years the two developed the cement-and-glass sculptures together. Malgas returned to Nieu-Bethesda in 1991 to assist with restoration of the Owl House and remained until his retirement in 1996.
