About
Jansenville men served in the First World War in South Africa, East Africa and on the Western Front. Of fourteen local men recorded as going to France, only three returned. In the Second World War, Jansenville-born Lieutenant Cecil Featherstone escaped the fall of Tobruk in 1942 with a convoy that brought forty-six men back to Allied lines.
