About
This district sits in the Camdeboo, long occupied by Khoekhoe groups including the Inqua. The Aberdeen heritage archive, citing SANParks, places the Inqua across a wide Camdeboo territory in the seventeenth century, grazing toward the Camdeboo River near present-day Aberdeen. TownHub records that pre-colonial history; it does not treat 1855 as the start of the place.
